From the courtyard, so the left of the main entrance to the Norman-Swabian Castle, enter the gallery that houses a large number of plaster casts featuring marble slabs, capitals, banisters, lunettes and monumental portals, all related to the romanesque sculpture of the 12th - 13th centuries.
The main casts include the lions' door, brackers, capitals, the sphinx of the main portal and abbot Elias chair from the basilica of st Nicholas in Bari; sculpture fragments and brackers of the apsidal windows of Bari's cathedral; slabs and capitals of the ambo and a lunette of the cathedral of Bitonto; fragments of the portal, capitals of the crypt and bas-reliefs of Barisano's door of the cathedral of Trani; figured brackets, cross vaults, bas-reliefs and capitals of Castel del Monte; tiles of the ambo and bishop's throne of the Sanctuary of Monte Sant'angelo; and, finally, the remains of the famous entrance arch of the now lost Palace of Frederick in Foggia.
