The grotto has always been the most amazing place of the town. It is said that it has fascinated very important people including the qeen joan of anjou.during far-off geological ages, the erosion exerted by the mediterranean waters eroded and modelled the splendid coastal landscape of this area. The grotta palazzese is made up by two very imposing grottoes. The first one is roundshaped and measures 30 m height, of which 4 m are under sea level. Through an natural arch you enter the second and smallest grotto with a splendid view of the sea. The main grotto is surmounted by a wide artificial terrace. The grotto can be visited either by boat or going down a staircase, upon permission of the hotel management.
