Churches Chiesa di San Rocco

Immagine di Chiesa di San Rocco

The Church of San Rocco, the mother church of Valenzano, is situated on the outskirts of the historic center of the village. Built in the late sixteenth century next to a smaller chapel from which it took the name, presents a typical Romanesque structure with a gabled roof and a large rose window on the front side. The plant building measures 35.20 x 12.20 meters, with four chapels that open left and right.

Today, the internal configuration of the building is different from the original because of the several restorations made between the XIX and XX century, with the construction of the presbyterium, the main altar and belfry, which does not follow the architectural style of the front side to which it is placed.
