An archeological complex sited on a hill to the south-est of the city. its ruins tell the tale of two key moments in history. The hill was chosen to build the imposing Italic Temple dedicated to Minerva. The temple was destroyed in the 5th century to make way for the biggest early Christian basilica in Apulia dedicated first to St Cosmas & St Damian and then to St Leucios.
